| Jack
Smith is a legend in the apparel industry. Jack became Haggar Clothing
Company’s storied Vice President and the first non-family member
of the company’s Board of Directors. During his Haggar career,
he became well known for his natural ability to understand people,
and his skill in using this knowledge to help others to obtain their
own peak performance. Jack’s career with Haggar began after
earning a degree in Industrial Management from Baylor University and
a stint in the US Air Force. As a plant management trainee, he then
moved through positions for floor to plant to senior management. At
retirement, Jack was responsible for an $85 million manufacturing
and operations budget and the production of 23 million garments per
year. Jack managed the massive build up of Haggar’s domestic
capacity and then the conversion to international sourcing. Known
for in-house research and development capabilities and on-floor innovative
manufacturing technologies and techniques, Jack and Haggar were twice
recognized by the US industry as technology All Stars
